Two men were arrested for attempting to smuggle 231kg of heroin between two Asian countries. The smugglers had stashed the bags of drugs in a secret compartment in a fishing boat. Abu Dhabi police had relayed information regarding the smugglers to the targeted country, who was able to track down and capture the persons involved as well as confiscate the contraband materials in December 2018. The owner of the drug shipment was among the two who were arrested.
